I am taking the Amtrak around the country using the Rail Pass. I will be visiting 7 cities where I have friends and family. The trip is to help me prepare and prep canvases for a new painting series I want to paint. I will be visiting Tacoma, LA, Phoenix, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Somewhere in Indiana, and Chicago. I will send canvases to all my locations a head of time. I want to trace family, friends, and myself along the journey. I will then take those renderings and make paintings out of them. At the end of each stop I will roll the canvases back up and ship them back home to MN. The end goal is having canvases ready to paint!!! I want to be representing the human condition through paintings. A daunting task. But doesn't it sound fun to try? Lets see what happens. My trip will begin the last week of March and will continue to the last week of April. I can give a slight time line but will be purchasing tickets along the way. I am looking to spend anywhere from 1-5 nights in one location. The longest in Philadelphia due to the sheer number of people I know there. If time allows I will spend a little extra time there.
